Where I'm from
Where I'm from the streets are black
and the money's all gone,
the stores are dead,
the days are long
the babies cry
for food they will not find
Where I'm from sauce is breakfast,
fun is cooking with my relatives,
and vacations at the beach are the highlight of my year
Where I'm from technology is everywhere
life is hectic and
old ways are sometimes forgotten
Where I am is fun
but it can be a terrifying place to be
I am a shining moon
I try to be a rainbow on a dark day
I come from many past
and struggles they have overcome
This is where I'm from
Cat tales
I walked on a trail
for hours on end
Behind me swung my tail
The rocks flew up between my toes
My companion yowled and yelled
We made our way through the forest
and the rain came pouring down
We ambled by unnoticed
by people all around
I'm attached to this animal
that wears me out night and day
The fur around me is filthy with dirt
from the forest trails not far away
The rocks make my nails hurt
and the rain is weighting me down,
but I enjoy my walks
it's better than not being needed and
just laying on the ground

Small and round
it falls to the ground
shows great sadness or joy
this one little ploy
A heart wrenching sight
to see it shine in the light
red eyes above
can be brought on by lost love
as sweet as a dove
